Potential Questions
WHO WILL BE COACHING?
Hanna French will be leading the 2024 Travel Team. Hanna played 4 years for D1 Appalachian State and coached for years after graduation. She recently coached the Ravenwood team.
HOW MANY PLAYERS WILL BE ON THE TEAM?
We will not have a cap on travel team roster numbers for spring 2025. For tournaments we will aim to bring a full roster, with numbers that allow for ample playing time for each player.
IS THERE AN ATTENDANCE POLICY?

It's expected that players will attend all practices and tournaments. Personal and team development is dependent on consistent attendance. For the spring 2025 season, attendance will be tracked. Players with consistently good attendance will always be eligible for tournaments. In the event that a tournament roster is over-full, players will poor attendance may be removed from the tournament roster. Players will be notified well in advance if there are attendance concerns.
ARE TOURNAMENT FEES INCLUDED?

Because we want to make this experience as inclusive as possible, tournament expenses will be added when players opt into the tournament. We try to keep the costs manageable and will communicate costs when tournaments come up. It's looking like one day tournaments will be around $100 per player to opt in and participate.
WHAT IF TOURNAMENTS ARE CANCELED?
While tournament costs are built into team fees, if the team is unable to compete in the anticipated number of tournaments, or if details change significantly such that team expenses decrease, each player will be credited or refunded the corresponding amount. Please note, refunds will be issued if the team is unable to participate, not on an individual basis.
CAN MY CHILD PARTICIPATE IF THEY ARE NEW TO FIELD HOCKEY, OR DO THEY HAVE TO BE MORE EXPERIENCED?
Our goal is to create a committed and competitive field hockey program to represent the club at regional events. At this time the Elite Team will remain open to all interested players, but it is highly recommended that players have at least one season of experience prior to joining. Brand new players will likely find more success on the Academy Team.
WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED IN TEAM FEES?
Team uniforms and spirit wear. All players will be required to purchase a Nashville FHC uniform prior to the first competition. Additional spirit wear is available via the club's apparel store.

Personal travel. Players are responsible for organizing their own travel and accommodations (if necessary) for tournaments. There will be no organized team travel, though parents are certainly welcome to coordinate with each other. Details for competition will be given well in advance so players can plan accordingly.
ARE THERE OTHER NON-TRAVEL OPPORTUNITIES?
Yes. The Academy Team, will practice once a week and compete in Music City Jamboree in early May. More details are available here.
